We have meticulously planned how the revenues from the sales of the book and the donations raised for Return of Christ will be spent. Once we’ve achieved our goal minimum of $2,000,000, the following stages will begin:
- Packaging: During this stage, we will “package” the film (i.e. attach actors, key production personnel and other talents).
- Preproduction: During this period (the six months prior to the start of production), we will open a production office; hire all crew; secure the locations where shooting will occur; build sets, create costumes, secure rentals for camera and lighting packages; prepare shooting schedules; etc. At this time, all actors will be cast and finalized.
- Production: The production period (approximately 90 days) will be the time that the principal photography will be shot. After this time, all the scenes for the movie will be completed or “in the can” as they say in the movie business.
- Postproduction: During the postproduction period (approximately one year), the director and editor will select the best “takes” of the various scenes and edit those takes into an assembly of the entire film. Also, music will be acquired or composed, recorded and added to the film; a digital effects company will create all CGI; an “optical” facility will create fades and dissolves between scenes, and shoot the “titles” sequences. The director may also do “looping sessions” (re-recording the actor’s voices in a sound studio) and “Foley sessions” (creating sound effects).
Upon completion of the film, we will seek a distributor for worldwide release. With the digital age that we live in now, and all the video streaming markets available, it is easier than ever for a film to find an audience. And with the popularity of Christian films, and the bestselling status of the book, Return of Christ will have no trouble reaching the people that are hungry to see it come to life on the screen.
